About
The people behind Shuddha Sangama
Two founders in Bengaluru, building products around one idea: people and the planet do better when trust comes first.
Why Shuddha Sangama
Our work centres on people. We want connections that are honest, systems that judge people fairly, and progress that keeps people and nature in balance.
It grew out of a belief that we all need to give back more: to society, to nature, to each other. In 2019–20, Dhareshwar began sponsoring students from the Government High School in Maskal, Hiriyur, Karnataka. Each year the top two boys and top two girls in 10th grade receive a cash award towards their pre-university studies.
The same idea led to Cost to Earth. Back in 1992, his grandmother collected empty milk packets and returned them to the dairy. On a 5 or 10 rupee packet of milk she got 5 or 10 paise back, about 1% of the price. It was a small, sensible habit. He wanted to apply it to everything we make, and to everything that is left behind and needs space to decompose. The aim: less land pollution, fewer cheap materials, fewer counterfeits, and an end to dumping.
Founder
Dhareshwar G M
Supply chain consultant, researcher, teacher and volunteer. Full work history on LinkedIn.
Fifteen years, six countries
Dhareshwar has spent 15+ years in supply chain consulting, working closely with Fortune 500 companies in manufacturing, pharma, FMCG, retail and automotive. The work took him to the United States, Canada, Mexico, Colombia, Spain and India.
Each place taught him something about how people work, trust and live together. Shuddha Sangama is his way of giving that back, by building tools that help anyone, anywhere, connect on fair terms.
Circular economy research
His paper Cost to Earth sets out a model for measuring how circular a supply chain really is, from production through to the country where a product ends its life. It has been well received by professors around the world. He also made a three-part video series that explains the model for people who work in supply chains.
Teaching
He volunteers as an English and maths teacher for primary school children, and gives guest lectures on supply chain and logistics to MBA and engineering students in Bengaluru.
Mountains and the outdoors
He volunteers on trail clean-ups with cleanupmountains.org, and has cycled to work since 2014. In Karnataka he has hiked Savandurga, Shivagange, Chitradurga and Makalidurga. In Spain he has explored the Vall de Lord, the La Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park and Canfranc–Astún. In Boston he ran the MIT–Harvard–MIT sprint.

Author of the novel Trip to Kindergarten, about a teenager's bus journey to find his childhood friends. More on the writing page.
